STATISTICS IN THE WORKPLACE
I was inspired when I discovered the connection between statistics and marketing, an area I was already passionate about. However, statistics can be applied to countless other aspects of business, as well as many other fields.
Think of something you’re passionate about. It could be your favorite subject in school, or your career of interest. It could be a hobby or talent. Something that excites you, inspires you, and motivates you. Now, think about statistics. How can your passion be enhanced by the use of statistics? If you were to see statistics in the same light you see this fascination, it would be a lot better, right?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for a statistician is growing at a rate of about 34%, which is much faster than average. In addition, the median pay for a statistician in 2014 was about $80,000 a year. Therefore, now is the time to get involved with the field of statistics. If you can take raw statistics and apply it to something that sparks your excitement, you are paving the way to a very successful future. Here are some ideas!
